Unpost (getunpost.com) deletes all the posts on a Facebook Page for you. Small Pages are usually done in minutes; very large Pages can take 24 to 72 hours. Here is why, and what to expect.
In short: Meta, the company behind Facebook, limits how fast any app can delete content. Unpost works within that limit, waits when Meta asks it to, and keeps going by itself until everything you chose is gone. You can close the tab and come back later.
What decides how long it takes
- How many items you delete. 500 posts are much quicker than 50,000.
- How your photos were posted. Photos uploaded together in one post are deleted in one go, so they are faster.
- How active your Page has been lately. Meta allows more speed for Pages with more recent activity. An old, quiet Page can be slower.
- How busy things are. Part of Meta's limit is shared by everyone using the app.
Unpost tells you before you start
After the free scan, Unpost shows an estimate of how long deleting everything would take. While a job runs, you see live progress and how many items are left.
Why some jobs pause
Sometimes Meta asks apps to slow down. When that happens, Unpost pauses, shows when it expects to continue, and starts again by itself. Nothing is lost and you don't need to do anything.
Be careful with "instant" tools
Deleting thousands of posts in seconds isn't possible through Meta's official API. A tool that promises it is either not using the official API or not telling you the truth.
You don't pay more for a slow job
You pay once for a number of deletions, not for time. If Meta makes a job take two days instead of two hours, the price is the same. See prices.
Common questions
Do I need to keep my computer on? No. Unpost runs on its own servers. Close the tab whenever you like.
Will I know when it's finished? Yes. The job page shows it, and if you have added your email address, Unpost emails you.
Can I make it faster? Not really. The limit comes from Meta, and Unpost already works close to it.
Scan your Page for free to see your estimate. Scanning deletes nothing. For the full process, read how to delete all posts on a Facebook Page.
